    I'm Michael.

Default Hello from Leeds West Yorkshire

I have been pursuing best audio system to my ears and definitely found integrated amplifier so far, however I am very happy with rest of the system too.
I listen to electric music mainly melodic chillout , but from my amplifier even my wife's Backstreet Boys Cds sound great.

    There is my system:

    Amp: Sugden A21a MKI

Speakers: Monitor Audio 700 Gold MkII

    Source: Marantz Cd 6005

    Cables:
RCA - chord crimson vee 3
Speaker C. - QED Silver Anniversary XT
    Extention Leeds: Tacima CS947
Power Cable: DIY BELDEN 19364 and Silver plated mains plugs

I am more audio enthusiast than audiophile so my setup is not fantastic but sugden is definitely staying with me for life.
Most of my set up is a second hand gear, and I don't mind that as long as it is in good working order.
If you have any advise on sugden matching system in reasonable price, I am all ears.

    Thanks

    welcome, lovey system you have.
if the backstreet boys sound good on your system you know it is a good system as that is a pretty tough thing for a system to do.
i do the spice girls test myself as their cd has dire sound production.

    Welcome to AoS Michael,

Can't speak for the Back Street Boys, but the Sugden A21 is still an excellent amplifier. I built one (I knew someone who knew Jim Sugden, so was able to get the parts for cost) and used it for many years.

Don't worry about using second hand gear, virtually all of my gear is second hand.

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Looks like you saved couple of £££building class A amplifier, it had to be ages ago.
I am wondering if there is a big difference in sound reproduction between A21a and Musical Fidelity A1 as they both are Class A amplifiers, but I will find out soon searching topics on AoS.
