    Yes, they still had it in Liverpool until 1984.

    I don't recall doing 11 plus, and I was 11 in 1969. Mind you I've forgotten lots of things over the years.

    It wasn't abolished nationally, different regions did away with it at different times. I think they still have it in some places down south.

    It was an exam you took at 11 years old to determine if you would go on to Grammar school or to a Secondary Modern in areas where the comprehensive system had not been introduced.
