    Default WTD Internal Speaker Cable

Hi All, after some decent cable for internal cable wiring. Several pairs of open baffle speakers to be wired. Product suggestions also welcomed. Many thanks, Martin

You don't need anything expensive. Have you got an old appliance that you don't need like a knackered vacuum cleaner? You'll easily get several meters of 1mm2 wire if you strip down the cable.

I've used this stuff in several speaker builds, good stuff.

Thank you for the advice. I will go with the HiFi Collective as spent heavy on the drivers. All are recognised top drawer. M

Consider using an OCC pure copper solid core preferably soldered between XO and speaker connectors.

    https://www.hificollective.co.uk/wir...pper-wire.html

I have experimented extensively with internal speaker wiring and find, to my satisfaction, that solid core sounds best and that OCC wire offers a further improvement.

16AWG is fine for the bass driver and 20 to 24AWG to the tweeter. 26AWG is also OK to the tweets but is a little fragile. Good practice would be to use a cable-tie anchor or a dab of hot-melt glue to stabilise the joint near the terminal.

There will be a rather large and unmistakable improvement over recycled appliance cord which is probably using recycled copper. The previous suggestion by Ian would also be an improvement.

If you are bored and have some time try stranded on one speaker and solid on the other, then you will 'know' and won't cost much more than a couple of beers with your mates
