    I'm Andreas.

    Red face hello all

hello all and happy new year!!

I am a 38 yo guy who's been listening to records for 30 years. At first it was tapes, then vinyl and tapes then cd s and mp3s. The last years I spent listening records on Spotify. Recently, I rediscovered my need to collect records as physical objects. Opening a record, used or sealed , wakes up emotions I cannot describe. So I went back to vinyl. After work, listening to music, changing vinyl sides while going through the artwork or lyrics is the peek of my day.

Post + lo fi rock, dark wave, alternative an indie rock, and some metal bands are my favourites at the moment. of course no music is off the table I listen and collect anything according to my mood.

It has been 20-25 years since I was buying vinyls and played them on my dad's hi-fi.That hifi is gone now so having a low budget, I tried to do my best using the gear I already had. So this is my setup:

I owned a Sony Mhc v11 high power system (https://www.argos.co.uk/product/5749562). I decided to use this as part of my starter kit. Then I looked for the best value for money turnable options. I decided and went for the proj-ect elemental (https://www.project-audio.com/en/product/elemental/) and combined it with a phono box pre amp (https://www.project-audio.com/en/product/phono-box-mm/).

I am a complete noob when it comes to equipment and setups. This led me here. I feel my Sony speaker is not enough to let out the full potential of my cheap but very efficient turnable. So I am here for research and advices.

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!
