FS: 2 box 25R Croft pre

What we have here is Croft 25R pre-amp (phono version) with the power supply from the RS model, I’ve owned this from new, originally purchased as the 25R which was upgraded by GC to the current two box set up during October/November of last year.

All has been cabinet housed from new and is mint and boxed. Each of the two units is boxed separately (with foam inserts top, bottom and sides) with each contained within another outer box.

Valves:

The valve compliment within the amp. is as follows:

· 2 x JAN GE 5751 (from Langrex) 5751 JAN GE (Langrex)

· 1 x JJ ECC83S

· 2 x Genalex Gold Lion ECC 83 (from Hot Rox) Genalex / Gold Lion 12AX7/B759 (hotroxuk.com)

Obviously not new but current retail on these would be £170. I have the boxes for these valves.

Please note: the photo showing the inside of the control unit shows a Brimar 12AX7 which isn't included in the sale as it found its way into my 7.

Asking : £1400 delivered (next day), with insurance at the call of the buyer. I’m 8 miles east of Nottingham for a doorstep collection.

Has it become just like stock RS after the alteration by GC?

Thanks for your interest

The power supply is the same as the RS model whilst the control unit would require not significant mods. by GC to bring to the full RS spec. I considered this but in the end went for the upgraded valves. I want to say this without it sounding like a sales pitch, in all honesty I never hankered after the final upgrade after slotting these valves in, I just felt it was perfect for me and I didn't want to change anything. Obviously I couldn't say what the final move would bring, but as it is it's one fine sounding piece of kit. The option of course remains.
