I owned a Transcription Audio 211 SET for a while and had no issues of the sort you mentioned, but mine had a volume control built in. I wonder if it’s an impedance mismatch with the DAC output?

No volume pot on mine, it was ok and l could get plenty of volume via the beresford just sounded a bit lacklustre compared to the pre section of the Morgan devaOriginally Posted by bumpy

The particular example is line only, 12dB gain, 4 inputs, remote control mute and volume with an Acoustic Dimension stepped attenuator. The attenuator is exceedingly good, it was in my preamp originally.
