    Thumbs up Speaker dilemma

I have a pair of Sonus Faber Chameleon floorstanding loudspeakers which sound very good up top and in the middle. However, they are quite lacking in the lower registers and wonder if i should look at replacing them or adding a sub. I use Prima Luna Prologue Six monoblock power amps and know that they are not lacking in any way. The Sonus Faber's are sensitive too soo they sould have absolutely no bother driving them. Your thoughts please.

What are the speakers sat on, what is the floor made of, how big is the room, and where are the speakers positioned?

On a carpeted wooden floor close to the corners. Room is 3.5 metres by 4 metres. I have had the bastards all over the room.

Is there not a 2 ohm also?

I can't find any measurements for the speakers but the quoted low bass response is 38Hz - no indication of what level that is at though. I wouldn't expect a decent size floor stander with twin 7 inch bass drivers to be bass-light in any room. I wouldn't rule out the amplifiers not being up to it if I were you.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

This post should not exist then?

Have a look at how they coupled to the floor. If they are on spikes, you could be losing a lot of bass into the wooden floor.
