Default Proart PP7160 Mono Block Amplifiers

For sale, 2 x Proart amplifiers. These are very flexible amplifiers, which can be used as mono blocks or as separate stereo amplifiers. Bought new by myself last year, these two were little used and are now surplus to my needs (I have a further two that I use in a second system).

Specs include: 150W per channel stereo / 300 watts mono into 4 ohms (110 watts stereo into 8 ohms); S/N > 90dB; distortion < 0.02%; weight 5 Kg; 105x140x300 mm; full protection circuitry; rca line input; 115/230 V.

These are sturdy professional amps, with a surprisingly good sound quality. These two have had a suitable 'dropping' resistor fitted to their fans so they run quietly (they run stone cold).

Selling for £60 the pair, plus £10 shipping (UK mainland).

Bargain. The front panel controls can be bypassed by moving the input connecting lead to connect directly with the main pcb, giving greater SQ.

In the living room system I use another set of these amps to drive a pair of vintage KEF 104/2 speakers, which is an excellent match, with plenty of grip and detail, and a surprisingly nice tone. I was going to write that these are great for the money, but actually they're just very decent amps, period.

I have some of these. The sound quality is remarkable.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
