Good idea having a separate thread for nice teas!

However, guys, could we please ensure that, much like the coffee and food threads, that this one is PICTURE HEAVY, so get yer cameras out! I want to see lots of pics of people's teas, not just dialogue about it, hokey dokes? Ta!

I dropped a topper earlier, in the cat food aisle in Sainsbury's... It was HOT when it POPPED, so that always means the stench will be BAD-ASS

Lol... you'd probably say that about coffee, too. YET - this thread has had nearly 200K hits and 4K replies: https://theartofsound.net/forum/show...arista-Bariste

Plus... Much like food, it's HOW it's presented, in terms of the crockery used, etc - and Grant's making the required effort. I'll join in tomorrow with some nice Darjeeling in my lovely 1940s vintage bone china cups and saucers!

Bought cheaply from a charity shop, I hasten to add....

In the above Orwell claims there are 11 points to the making of "a nice cup of tea". I don't agree with them all:

[1] Not necessarily - some of the finest (nicest) tea I have drunk was some leaf tea I brought back from Burma. Also black Russian tea is very good. Tea doesn't have to only come from India, Ceylon or China to be good.

    [2] Agreed

[3] No, a glass tea pot is also fine, and although Orwell doesn't mention it, a tea cosy should be used to keep the tea in the pot warm

[4] No - it's a matter of taste. I prefer my tea weak, so I don't let it brew for too long.

[5] Don't agree - 'filter style' teapots are fine

[6] No - the water should be just off the boil. Boiling water 'scalds' the leaves and impairs the flavour

    [7] Agreed

    [8] Possibly

    [9] Agreed
