Default Exponential mid bass horns update

Progress on the large midbass horn project.

Now there are two and mouth surround is fabricated.

They will be used in a 4/5 way full spectrum horn system.

    18mm premium birch plywood.

    1.2m long. Exponential horn flare.

    Frequency usage 100Hz to 400Hz.

Eminence Kappa 12A 12" bass drivers.

Driver chamber and bracing to do.

These will have great articulate, fast and tuneful mid bass.

Very nice midbass horns, did you finished them?
IMHO this spectrum region (100-500Hz) is the main differentiator in using horn speaker in an audio system.
The resolution gained in reproducing piano or cello sound is not possible with other methods.

Absolutely. Nothing comes close to proper horn bass.
They are now part of a 4 way system.
The customer has tapped horns as low bass. 20Hz up - Similar to mine,
and a pair of compression driver / tweeter horns I turned.
I can't remember his mid channel.

Yes I did finish them. Back in November last year.
    Here they are again

The mid bass horn speakers all finished. Palleted and ready to ship to Sunderland.

Rectangular mouths, circa 60cm X 48cm at widest and over 1.2m long.
    Computer modelled in Hornresp first.
Going to used around 95Hz to 400Hz
Made from 6mm void free birch plywood sheets, laminated in several layers to be exponentially flared / curved.
    Backboxes from 21mm birch plywood.
12" Eminence bass driver gives excellent detail / punch in this frequency range and is ideally suited to front horn loading.
