    Lighter fuel (petrol) is a great degreaser and also good for removing glue residue, fingerprint marks on CDs and many other things. With the bonus that it evaporates away so no trace left.

    Yes, it's ideal. If the bearing has a retained ball at the bottom. Leave it to dry for a day as solvents will go past it and stay under the ball.
    It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!
