    Default Album Club 2019 - 2020

    Album Club 2019 - 2020

The Album Club round for 2019 - 2020 has now finished.

When I invited Members to volunteer and offer their Album Club choices, I said that we had been previously been disappointed by the lack of replies and discussion of each month’s choice. To try and encourage more discussion, which in the past would often cover two pages or more, I decided to turn the Album Club into a competition, using the poll for each month’s choice as a method for scoring: the idea being that the more Members voted after leaving their comments, the higher the score would be.

Sadly the response has not been what I had hoped for, with any discussion being fairly minimal – but I did say that it would be a competition, and the winner would receive a prize of an audiophile recording of their choice.

    So to the results:

    Month Member Score
    September 2019 Barry 78
    October 2019 Grant (struth) 47
    November 2019 Ian (Ian7633) 109
    December 2019 Adrian (AJSki2fly) 67
    January 2020 Martin (high.spirits) 115
    February 2020 Mark (YNWaN) 70
    March 2020 Alex (Alex_UK) 35
    April 2020 Martin (Discopants) 44
    May 2020 Garry (Gazjam) 34
June 2020 Allen (Audio Al) 35
    July 2020 Simon (Ashmore) 71
    August 2020 Loz (HackneyRF) 54
September 2020 Mike (Jack Hawk) 38

The winner is thus Martin (high.spirits) with the highest score of 115. So Martin if you PM me, we can arrange for you to receive your prize.

The Album Club will start again next year, when I shall put out a call for contributors.

See you then, have a good Christmas and stay safe.

    WOW, that's a surprise.

With all the current doom and gloom it's nice to get this.

Music is the real winner and the Album Club has widened my listening, even if the albums are not always to my taste.

Many thanks for running the club and I will pm you in due course.

    Cheers
    Martin
