Quite warm today in sunny Blackpool. Was re-doing a flat roof with Firestone Rubbercover, so the sunshine came in handy. It did rain briefly, but that coincided with eating me butties, so that was ok

Looks like it probably won't rain much for the next couple of days, but will be miserably gloomy. The sun might come out on Monday, but accompanied by significant wetness which may last for a few more days. Not good, really.

Sometimes the weather forecast is significantly wrong, and we have much pleasanter days than predicted, but that hasn't happened for a while. If things were more normal, I think I'd take a road trip round Europe, or even just to the south of England, but it's probably safer up here, so won't.

Bright here and not too cold. Hope it stays dry, just got indoors before it rained yesterday.

Oh my god! There's nothing wrong with the bidet is there?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

It doesn't seem cold here, but it is very gloomy. Not looked at the temperature yet.

    Overcast and cold.

Went out last night in search of food and it was properly cold. Like the depths of winter. If you get that as early as October it usually means a harsh winter is coming. Although last year was the same and winter turned out to be pretty mild. So who knows?
