Not been what I call 'proper cold' [a number significantly in the minus] here in a long time. Even when we've been using our wood burner, it's only been around a quarter full, just to take the chill off... No, when we start getting into very low single figures and minuses, that's what I call properly cold!

11 Deg C slightly overcast, but dry. In a couple of hours I'm going to start up the classic two stroke Flymo for the last cut of the year for the back garden grass. Monster and Little Timid might be supervising.

Been bright and warm(ish) here all afternoon, Cut grass and indeed, Monster and Little Timid were overseeing. Pulled up some paving slabs to trace tree roots (from tree in road) that is damaging my property, my back is suffering a bit now, too old for this game!

Things look a bit lively for Ireland at the moment. They're bang in the middle of a cyclone that's drifted in from the Atlantic.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

What you need is a two-pronged attack - saw through the offending roots to prevent further growth, they'll eventually rot, and get Monster and Little Timid to use tree as a scratching post
