The UK has a moderate climate, not too hot and not too cold. I do find sunshine everyday very boring.

I could live in a hot climate but would rather stay here.
I wasn't talking about the tropics. Plenty of places we could have gone that have better weather without it being too much. What about California? Northern India? The Caribbean?

Granted it might have been a bit of a squeeze fitting us all into the Caribbean islands. But there are also some French and Spanish ones we could have taken over whilst they were busy occupying the British Isles. By the time they'd realised what a mistake they'd made it would be too late.
    Current Lash Up:

    California, full of americans.

Northern Indian, yes I have been there, extreme weather, almost desert, baking hot during the day and cool at night, then there are other problems, Delhi belly, not somewhere I would choose to live, ok to visit for a month or so. Not been to the Caribbean apart from Cuba, not sure the weather is better than here and there is a lot of poverty.

If I had to pick somewhere, it probably would be New Zealand, that's fairly close to the UK weatherwise. Parts of Australia maybe ok also.

Parts of the UK are better than Stoke.

I can actually go and live in most countries in Europe if I chose to. I guess that would include their colonies too.

    lol. no shit Sherlock.

Actually just been for a walk down into the town to the Chemist and I was thinking that it's not such a bad place to while away my pointless existence. Even if it is raining most of the time, I quite like the rain.

Would still swap for California though. Going there was a bit of an eye-opener.

I wouldn't want to live in many places outwith UK tbh, although a bit further south would deffo help my health. Weather, animal naties and acts of nature are in many places hence reluctance tbh.. the old the grass is greener is often quite apt.
Folk move and after a year or 2 find they prefer rainy old britain ...its just that scotland takes it too far

An Oyster card will take you most places. Wonder what Patagonia is like this time of year?

You wouldn't get much of it in California, though!

You're a real hot weather freak, aren't you? Personally, I can't see the attraction, so wouldn't live there if you paid me. Way too modern, crowded and full of fake 'plastic people'. What exactly was the "eye opener" - that lack of anyone without facial or tooth 'enhancements'?

If I were to live in the States, it would be out in the sticks around Arizona or New England, or possibly Louisiana - somewhere relatively unspoiled, with a bit more character and 'soul', than the soulless 'sunshine state'!

Realistically, if I were to move anywhere 'far away', it would defo be to New Zealand, but ultimately, as an autumn/winter person, I'd love to live in Austria or Switzerland, right up in the mountains in some beautifully picturesque and unspoiled little village, and 'land that time forgot', MILES away from any crowds and the great unwashed'!
