Hi Al,
I now have JBL K2 9800 speakers which I love. They work better than the Tannoys in my lounge, as they work better up nearer the wall, and also the drivers are at a better height when seated on the sofa compared to the Tannoys. I do have an excess of power amps at the moment having these 833s, my Radford sta100s built as monoblocks, a Radford sta100, my wife's Mastersound 845 monoblocks and some Ming Da 805 monoblocks so something has to go! Ironically, the Silvercore's are probably the best at driving my JBLs but my wife's Mastersounds have to stay in the lounge, so there's no choice there! I still normally have a couple of AI500s in the workshop too!
The chances of auditioning these is zero, so would someone like to compare them against some of the best SETs - say a 300B. (Given the slight power difference)

Having had amps based on most valves including 300bs I would say:
-much more drive and output than 300b SEs with the ability to drive even difficult loads like Tannoy speakers as Tom (Montesquieu) used them for
-more even handed across the frequency range than 300bs, with powerful bass and extended treble
-better treble extension than 845s
-detailing /musicality as good as 2A3s /6B4Gs
Hope that helps!
