Default Vinyl and cd V Spotify

Since getting the rullit field coils I'm noticing that Spotify sounds dull in comparison to vinyl. I reckon the field coils reveal so much more detail as I noticed when playing some Beethoven, not my usual taste but now and then I have a session, I could here people moving around and dropping things while a quiet passage was playing. Not able to hear much of that with my other speakers. I have always got along with Spotify but now the difference is very noticeable. What other services are you using that betters Spotify and has a good library.

Free trials available on them all so it’s easy to test on your system, some prefer one service and some hate that one and prefer another so only you will be able to decide.

Just reading through another thread and people talking about the kit they use to stream and it made me wonder if it was the fact I was using my I phone 11 when I usually use the iPad mini. The I phone 11 makes a decent recording to post on line so I mostly don't use it to stream Spotify. I will compare the two for a start. I'm not keen on more boxes and dedicated streamers and the problems associated with this kind of kit, mostly during set up and updates of such stuff. Never have any interruptions to playing vinyl

What problems do you mean? Streaming on a Bluesound Node is easy and all controlled on an ipad. Mine is connected with ethernet cable to the router. Are you streaming with Bluetooth?

Difficult to compare vinyl to digital as will be different masters, even comparing digital can be tricky.

Yes Bluetooth, well not problems I've had and cannot remember specifics, but read about people having all kinds of problems with streamers.

If I get this right you’re using Spotify on your phone or pad as the source, and you think the issue is with your streaming service?

You are limited by the phone/pad interpretation of the signal, which in my opinion is not good.

Simple installation of either something like Chromecast Audio or Musiccast streamer, 5 minutes setup, no computer or complex settings.

With your current setup Spotify or any other will always sound kinda.......crap.

no I'm not suggesting it is the streaming service, quite the opposite. I reckon it's probably the I phone or I pad. I did use an HP elite book but preferred the ease of use with the iPad. Maybe I need to try the elite book again now that my set up is far better than ever before.

In your OP you were looking for alternative providers, your problem is with your source. If your streaming using Bluetooth as the medium that’s your problem.

Your phone or pad should only be a remote control, for a streamer that uses your modem via wi-fi.

yes I was asking the question and the kit was in question. I have now posted another thread about controlling my HP elitebook with the ipad as I have today connected it with USB and Ethernet cable to the project ds2 digital pre and it sounds superb. The only reason I started using the ipad was the convenience of having it close by and not having to use the keyboard

Install Logitech Media Server 8.0 on laptop, and then add the material skin and the plugins for Spotify, Qobuz or whichever and then use your iPad to control it all.

    Ends up like this...

Ok, I’m using LMS to control my Pi, but you can control the laptop in the same way I’m sure.
