Default Sold: Pair of Emotosound Air Motion ribbon supertweeters

    **Sold**

I grabbed these a few weeks ago to try out, and with my B&Ws they absolutely transformed them, adding sparkle and lower mid. They're quite flexible in that they can be adjusted for low-end crossover and attenuation.

These are Emotosound Air Motion ribbon supertweeters. 90mm wide by 92mm tall by 107mm deep, frequency response to 40,000Hz with a selectable crossover point of either 10,000Hz or 15,000Hz. They also have a three step attenuator of 0dB, -5dB and -10dB. Sensitivity is 90dBw/m.

I'll include the cables which are terminated in piggyback banana plugs one end and spades the other - they're about a metre long.

Selling due to moving on from my B&W speakers; the replacements already have ribbon tweeters.

    Hi Steve,

Yep, just hook them straight in. I've terminated them with spades and bananas to aid flexibility. Of course either termination can be easily removed.

However, I'm just curious as I've never heard any, may well be selling them on before long, so I'll keep you in mind...

That's exactly where I am too. I am also curious to see (well hear) what a pair of super tweeters might do in my system hence my interest in buying this pair. Be very interested to learn how you get on with them and thanks for keeping me in mind should you decide to move them on.

Please feel free to PM me after you've auditioned them to let me have your thoughts etc.

It’s definitely all about synergy with supertweeters. I’ve had a number of pairs and they’ve all worked in different ways with different speakers. These are some of the best I’ve had, and they positively set my B&Ws alight! I tried them with the Edingdales and they killed the sound completely (although they already have ribbons). It’s a bit of a game of chance, but the flexibility of this particular pair mitigates the chances of a ‘miss’ - to a degree; that’s why I tried a pair.

They are fantastic bits of kit.
