Hi all, I just joined. My name is Jac, from the Netherlands. Vinyl and jazz addict, but curious to see if digital can reach the level of vinyl.

    Welcome to AoS Jac.

"Can digital reach the level of vinyl"? Well that is a much debated question, one which usually produces more heat than light.

My own opinion, for what it's worth, is that I am amazed that either approaches sound as good as they do. And if you spend enough, both approaches tend to converge; though (again IMO) you have to pay far more on vinyl replay than you have to do with digital.

For robustnes and convenience digital wins, but for a tactile, involving and nostalgic experience some find vinyl to be better.

Why not pose this question in the 'Blank Canvas' section of the Forum and start a new debate?

    Enjoy the Forum

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!
