As I've said over on the Covid thread, Guy, CASES aren't necessarily a problem (indeed they could lead to an increase in herd immunity) - hospitalisations or deaths are, and fortunately so far those aren't on the increase

Essentially, we need to stop focussing on CASES [after all, it follows that with more testing, you'll get more cases] *unless* they turn into something more serious!

The 'reality' as I see it: ramping up the fear factor, so that people are afraid to go to work, to the pub, the gym, the shops, is in no one's interest, including the governments. I believe the reality to be somewhere between what we are told and what we see around us.

I only know three people who have had it - Anita's youngest son (25) last month, who went pretty much symptom free, and a couple in their 70's back in March. Customers of mine. Wife experienced flu-like symptoms, and husband, who four months later (when I last saw him) still wasn't right. Is it possible the virus is losing its power? Can it work like that?

Well, it depends on how you look at it. I'd agree, in terms of what's best for the economy, but I'm not sure what the government are currently more focussed on boosting: the economy or their ability to surveil/control us, and ultimately push the rolling out of some 'dodgy', rushed through, vaccine.

For me, I still suspect that the latter is the real agenda, and so it follows that if you make everyone scared, they'll be more receptive towards vaccination, in order to become 'immune from Covid' (which of course is bollocks), and also be given a ticket to move around and live more freely than those who haven't been vaccinated.

If you think about it, we keep on hearing, again and again, that the only 'real way back to normality' is when a vaccine is available, therefore it makes sense for them to create a culture of fear, in order to get what they want.

Yes, and I've already said so... The virus could've mutated now into a different strain that's less virulent, but equally as contagious, and which could explain why cases are on the rise, yet so far, hospitalisations or deaths (thankfully) aren't.

If that's true, then it would be the best news ever!
