Default Long term viewer - now needing help :-)

Have often referred the the collective knowledge on this forum. But have only recently got myself into a position where I can have my own music room, to that end have a densen b100 amp and a densen b400 cd player with some Quad floor standers.

Still not all setup yet as have been trying to fix the cd player. Which has had the sony mech replaced (by me) I have cured the skipping but now its super quiet and I have to crank the amp to the max where is sounds quiet, thin and crackly.

    Sigh so it continues

    Hi Matthew.

Just buy another CD player, lots of decent ones on eBay for fifty quid or less. You could spend the rest of your life tracing that fault.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

Or add a DAC. Sounds the the internal DAC is knackered.

I wondered about that but its decoding ok. May run over the output stage with an iron in case of a dry joint.

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!
