    From emails with Stan:
I’m right in thinking that I need to do both the Venom and Serum upgrades on the same PCB?

    ( C47 + C48 + R47 + R48) + ( C45 + C46 + C43)
    Hi Richard,

I'll take 40 pieces of the Wima caps and Vishay resistors off you if you can get four of each for a £1 in total :-D .

    .Dear Stan,

For various reasons, I haven’t been able to keep up-to-date with all the AoS news re: your products so please forgive my somewhat naive questions.

    I have a Caiman 2/TC-7534 with a newish firmware chip marked ;V6-100.

I understand that there is a new firmware + hardware upgrade for this which I would like to take advantage of.

I’ve looked at the tech manual on your website to see what’s involved.

Can the firmware update be done independently of the hardware changes? (My instinct says ‘no’.)

If so, do you have a preferred supplier of all the various components that need to be changed ? Is Maplins OK or are Farnells better?

I have an ERSA temp. controlled soldering iron with small bits. What is the melting point of the solder used and do you have any preferences for the ‘replacement” solder?

Apologies if you’ve answered all this before….!

BTW, what are the 3 ‘codings’ that the new chip is capable of?

A wonderful piece of kit…very many thanks! My thoughts for the next model…more inputs please!

I’m soon to replace the Anker battery with a Chinese Linear PSU.

I also have a TC7533/Bushmaster 2 and see that there are similar mods for this too.

Please could you quote me for the Caiman firmware chip and for the Bushmaster? Thanks.

    Best wishes,

Will contact later when I'm more compos mentis!

    R
