Well I never thought I'd be doing this - and I've hovered over the 'post' button for half an hour - but my other Reiver speakers are getting more use (because of the room size), and something has to go. So... here are my Mk1 Edingdales in oak. They are in fabulous condition and come with magnetic grilles and spikes.

Condition is great; they haven't been abused - nor have they been over-driven - having been on the end of a 300b SET their whole lives. Though not pictured, these come with the adjustable control for the tweeter which is on the rear of the speakers.

    dimensions:
    240mm Wide
    430mm Deep
    1130mm High

    £800 from Faversham in Kent.

I have sent details to a friend who really needs to replace his speakers, whether he goes for them is another matter.
Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

Digital:- Marantz SA-KI Pearl CD player, RaspberryPi/HifiBerry Digi+ Pro, Buffalo NAS Drive

Amplification:- AudioValve Sunilda phono stage, Krell KSP-7B pre-amp, Krell KSA-80 power amp

I think I am nearing audio nirvana, but don’t tell anyone.

Very lovely indeed! Reminiscent of the Mission 753s (I think that’s the model) in look. Cracking value and they certainly seem well regarded.

I've only just heard about these speakers so don't know anything except that they are highly regarded from the little I've read (so far...)
Can they be upgraded to mk2 spec easily, and what is involved and can they be placed fairly close to a back wall, say 20cm from back of cabinet to wall - the front port implies they can.

Also, are they collection only or could they be couriered to Cornwall - if not, are you in a rush to get rid of them - I get up to London every few weeks..

    Hi Steve

I'm in no rush, and would rather not courier. They are pretty large beasties - I'm not even sure how I'd go about wrapping them

I'm afraid I don't know specifically if they can be upgraded to Mk2 spec but as Struth suggests I would assume not. I think Colin changed the drive units in second and subsequent versions.

My experience is that they work well close to a wall. You'll inevitably get some bass reinforcement but you don't get that odd sonic boom that sometimes comes from rear ported jobbies similarly positioned.
