    Looking for speakers.
    This list is likely to change/get added to.

    Stand mount.
    Reasonably efficient.
    Budget 3-400 it give or take

    Von schweikert VR1
    Rural equinox

    Wharfedale Linton heritage (budget increased)

    ?

    Any suggestions appreciated.

    You'll be surprised to know (!) I've owned VS VR1s. I wouldn't go chasing after them if I was you. The Ref 3as however are an extremely high class speaker.

    If you want something similar sounding to Vr1s, check out Audiovector stand mounts.Think it was the S3s i had for a bit.. beautifully made too.

    Thanks for the recmmendation.

    I have indeed bought the ref 3a mm de capo i speakers.

    I received them today and am enjoying tnem.

    I hope yo try an el84 valve amp or Marinate pm4 o similar with them.

    Any recommendation s for something not too expensive that might shut tnrse?

    Ooo. Hope you enjoy those. Ref 3as have a very connected sound, beautifully made too.

    The maple almost put me off.
    But in the flesh its very nice and a nice change from the usual dark tones.
