Default For Sale - KEF 104/2

For sale are my KEF 104/2 speakers.

I bought these last year as a project.

The tweeters have been replaced with Morel MDT29-04 from the states.
These are the correct 4 ohms and sound excellent.
I have had 3 pairs of kef 104/2, and imho these morels are an improvement on the now aged T133.
It wasn't the cheapest option, but very worthwhile.

The donuts have all been refoamed.
The surrounds are rubber so do not need doing (unlike the biwire model).
The woofer rubber grommets have been replaced.
The grill cloth has been replaced by cloth from Wilmslow audio.

The cabinets have their marks etc, including some minor splitting along a couple o edges.
I filled, sanded this, but the filler didn’t take the stain afterwards as it stated on the packet. Bugger.
The photos/flash make this look worse that it actually is.

So, here we have an excellent pair of kef 104/2 functionally, as good/better as any out there, barring those that have been recapped.
But with cabinets that are not perfect.

Selling as i will be moving in the near future and these are too heavy and big to carry up to the hifi room (the loft).

    £375 collected from Grantham, Lincs.
Which i think is a bit of a bargain.

Cash on socially distanced collection please.
    Thanks for looking.

They are an easy load. As the impedance curve is very flat.
Some of the amps i have used with kef 104/2 -

audio innovations 700 valve (23 wpc).
Ming da piccolo set valve (18 wpc).
    Musical fidelity a1 (25 wpc).

    All were luvly.

Agree with this. The load is flat by the use of a "conjugate load" crossover (ie variations in the impedance are flattened by the crossover).

I had fun with mine on the end of a Nait 3 too.
