    Default USB 3.0 cable

Having recently bought a reclocker, installed before my new Soncoz dac, I have been looking for a decent USB cable. When you type the word audiophile in google its as if all the sellers in the world collectively rub their hands together and add a huge amount onto the price of an ordinary cable.
I have heard that USB 3.0 cables are made to a higher standard with better shielding. Any one tried one and can recommend a suitable manufacturer?

USB 3.0 is for data. For audio you use USB 2.0. As already suggested Audioquest is a good place to start. Prices go from about £25 up to HOW BLOODY MUCH.

A USB cable is for data and power. USB 3 cables 'can' transmit data up to almost 10x the speed of USB 2 (5Gbps vs 480Mbps), and can deliver almost twice the power (900mA vs 500mA). USB 3 has more connector wires than USB 2 (9 vs 4)

USB 3 or 2 is not better or worse for audio, it more depends on the cable quality, and the devices used. USB 3 has the better potential, all else being equal.

You are correct BUT...there is no point using USB 3.0 for streaming audio as there is nothing to be gained re SQ. over a good USB 2.0 spec cable. Having said that, it is worth investigating the differences sound wise between USB cables (USB 2.0) as I have recently found out.

Anyway who started another cable thread, they ALWAYS go badly. So to misquote Dragons Den, I’m Out.
