Stax Headphones

Hi

I have had a pair of Stax Sr3 Headphones/SRD6 Energiser usual problem low volume on one channel - understandable as they are probably over 40 years old!
No nasty noises just low on one channel - how do you work out if it is the SR3 or the SRD6? I would enjoy using them if there is a fix.
