When you see a question mark at the end of a sentence, it usually means that the person who used it has asked a question to which he/she would like an answer

    It wasn't rhetorical.

No it's all air con in Vegas. It only gets nippy at night and that's only for a couple of months.
Not great then if you're there during those particular months... And from your earlier description it sounded like it was rather more than "nippy":

Fair enough, but as you said earlier, it's entirely subjective and ultimately down to the individual, so I wouldn't pay any attention to stuff like that.

And.....Do you remember the Ready Brek advert in question, and get the point I was making earlier?

It did have proper heating once they fixed it. Air con is proper heating - or cooling. Yes, the bed had sheets and a quilt or whatever you call it.

I was probably extra cold due to the jet lag. And you can never get properly warm on the plane, it's always bloody freezing on those things.

I remember the Ready Brek advert but my god that was vile stuff. Didn't know anyone who would touch it. I used to have American waffles for breakfast. With butter and maple syrup. You can't get them no more, at least not in this god-forsaken country.

No worries... I've never used or experienced air-con for heating, only cooling, but intuitively to me it just seems wrong. Does it give a natural or an artificial kind of heat? I've never had jet lag (never been on a place for more than 3 hours), so no idea what it feels like, but I get what you mean.

Lol - no I never actually ATE Ready Brek, it was just the 'warm red glow' I was using to describe the point I was making, which was that hearty, home-cooked food provides your body with good fuel, so you're never really cold [almost like a type of thermostat], unless it *is* VERY cold. If you don't eat well, plus are on the skinny side, you tend to feel the cold more, IME...

Don't know about you, but I've always got warm hands (good circulation, I guess), often when most other people's are stone cold, so if you're starting from that sort of 'warm' position, I guess it's bound to mean that you'll suffer more when the weather's genuinely hot, as your 'ambient' body temperature is higher than average - if that makes sense?

It's also why I've always sweated like a bugger, even as a kid, as soon as it gets warm, even without moving around much, when often others don't break into a sweat at all. As soon as it's above, say, 25C, I just drip...

For waffles, this place looks pretty fab, if you live in London or the south: https://wafflemeister.com/our-menu/

Looks like they have the real deal. Closest one to me is Alton Towers but it's inside the park.

I'm curious - what's the difference between the heat from air-con and that from say a radiator, apart from one will blow the heat round the room? Heat is heat, surely? Unless by natural heat you mean log fires, which in Vegas hotels are probably thin on the ground.

If you bought a portable air-con as suggested, you could run it in the evening (or even all day long) to not only cool the air but draw the heat out of the walls, then switch it off at sleepy-time I bet that would work.

Oh and there's nowt wrong with Ready Brek, you just need to lower your standards a little. A bowl of tasteless slop never hurt anyone - look at Oliver Twist, he turned out ok.

No idea, I've never experienced heat from air-conditioner. Ask Macca!

What I meant is a kind of 'dry' stuffy, heat, which I really dislike, but yes it'll likely to be the same as that from any radiator, etc. I'm just used to real fires and log burners, the heat from which is a different ball game.

Yeah, good idea. I think we'll probably look into that, as Del's the same as me in that respect - perhaps more, as that long, thick 'mane' of hers, as lovely as it is, is like being cocooned in a constant blanket!

Ha - very good.... Never had it, as I hate ALL types of cereals, simply because I don't take cold milk (other than a tiny bit in tea), so cereals are a no-no.

This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

You make Ready Brek with hot milk, it's basically smooth porridge.

We usually have some Ready Brek knocking about, but don't have it very often. This morning I had Shreddies, but I had that with hot milk. Got to be quick with wheat-based cereals though if using hot milk - it swells like buggery and after five minutes it's only good for laying bricks with.

Yeah, sorry, what I meant was raw milk. I don't drink milk on its own or have it 'raw', other than a spot in 'builders tea'

So cereals are out. Plus, I'm not into the texture of 'rusk-type' things, or 'dry crisps' that don't taste of much, like cornflakes, rice crispies, etc... I find it rather unpalatable. Remember I'm continental, so more used to croissants than cereals!
