Well, I cope fine when I'm in Italy, when I've got access to an air-conditioned hotel, or when in our family villa (big, open-plan rooms with downstairs bedrooms), shutters on the windows (which are closed all day during the summer) and marble floors (no carpets), so that rooms are kept lovely and cool, no matter how hot it is outside!Originally Posted by Pigmy Pony

Here, it's a different matter. Plus, for some reason it feels like a different type of heat, kind of more oppressive, perhaps because of the humidity. Maybe because where I go in Italy, you're right up in the mountains, so the air is fresher... Dunno it just feels different.. So I cope ok over there, but not here, when it gets up to 30C and over!

Mrs. P got me some Scotts Porage Oats recently, and something seems to have changed - it was like eating lumpy Ready Brek. Didn't mind that though. Another one I tried was some Quaker "Large" porridge oats, I did like thatI've been having Scotts Porage for breakfast for many years. With a banana, honey, dried fruit such as prunes and figs. Keeps you going all day (sometimes in more ways than one)
Not the past couple of days though as it's a tad ''over the top'' even for me.
Have you ever tried porridge oats raw with cold milk? I did, and it made me fart for England (and Scotland). So very much a hermit's option.
