Cool and fresh this morning up to about 1100, then sun came out and now it's starting to get hot again.
Supposed to be a lot cooler tomorrow with 50% chance of rain in the morning.
Still not needed my new hat, the only rain we've had in last month has been late at night. Amazing really as I bought it because every time I stepped out the house it started to rain.

Nothing until one or two in the morning (I think, something woke me) then very heavy.
Lots of flashes/rumbles out towards the east at about 22.00 (dog kept on going out to chase around the garden and bark at the thunder) - according to radar there was a severe storm at sea a few miles out from Harwich around 22.00 when I was seeing the flashes. Which ties in with my wife working out that the storm was 16 miles away.
I think the storm petered out a bit when it came up the Stour towards Manningtree.
Getting clearer now - I think we may have a sunny evening for a few beers on the patio
