Have a few of those cabs kicking about Celeston drivers??? he had an extra driver stage giving around 270Watts from each cab I believe.

You want to buy another KSA50 Martin? I have at least two that are serviceable easily put back to correct condition
Hi Tony - I'm after a KSA50S - I have a KSA100 but prefer the 50S. If you have one of those available we can definitely talk.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

    Changes of equipment? Well I'm:

Still using my first pickup arm (though I have others),

Still have my second, fourth and fifth pickup cartridges (as well as several others),

    Still using my third turntable,

Now using my third, fourth and fifth CDPs,

Now using my second tuner (though I still have my first),

Still have my first, second and third preamp, although I now use my fourth and fifth (!),

Now using my fourth and fifth power amplifier (though I still have the third, as well as others),

And I'm still using my second set of speakers, which I have done for the last 45 years.

All chosen by reputation for good SQ, through reading reviews, looking at the build quality and the reliability - and virtually all of it is second hand.

Like Martin, I'm interested in audio equipment from a technical point of view as well as using it to enjoy music. Curiously the same does not apply to vision - I only have one TV (my third) and one DVD/Blu-ray player. Yet I have a fairly large collection of 35mm film cameras and lenses.

Needs to be a 50S though, not a 50. Been looking for a year. Closest I got was a 100S in Germany.

...and get one of the knowledgeable folks on AoS to finish and case it up for you

they are for the 50 not the 50S - they are not at all the same amplifier. You can pick up a 50 practically anywhere, the 50S is rare.

Alan has said he will fix the one I have so it will get done at some point. I'd like to have two so I've always got a spare though.

Listening to some jazz now, the spaciousness and live feel is great, but a stringency still exists in the high notes of sax/trumpet solos, which is hard to bear. My never ever ending gripe, no matter what system I have! Gonna try to get some vinyl versions of a few of my jazz cds, see if it helps.

Ah I see, I know nothing about Krells. If the one you've got can be fixed, then cool
