Hi everyone, thanks in advance for reading this

I recently bought audio-technica ATH-A1000Z cans, which sounded amazing right off the bat! I currently have them going straight into my PC motherboard though. After some research it seems that I might get even more out of them by running them through an amp, but then other questions got thrown up and now I'm wondering about a separate DAC, a DAC/Amp combo, decibels, the space-time continuum...

I'm hoping that an amp would be enough, just because as far as motherboards go on the audio front, this one isn't bad. It's an Asus Rog Strix Z390-E Gaming, using a SupremeFX (S1220A) codec with 10 DAC channels. I think it's a pretty good source by itself and might not need a separate DAC, but I do wonder if an amp would be beneficial even though it claims to support 32-600Ω headphones.

My budget's rather modest at the moment so I was mainly considering the JDS Atom or Schiit Magni 3/2 (used ). I'd appreciate any advice from anyone using these or similar headphones / amps
