Default Internal hook up phono stage wire

I'm looking to replace the 'cheap' hook up wire used to connect the ins and outs in my phono stage. I've already replaced the caps and tubes with a decent jump in performance.

Here are the wires to be replaced:

Not looking to spend a huge amount, under £50 lets say as I'll only need a couple of ft.

Likely from hifi collective but to be honest the choice is so vast I don't really know where to start! Something like pure copper tinned 20AWG I would guess but like I say I don't really know exactly what to look for.

    Help and advice appreciated,

    Cheers

Do you have a reason to think the existing wires are inadequate?

I'd certainly put grommets in that internal divider where the transformer wires go through.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Only that I know these are built to a cost and the caps/tubes were very cheap offerings. The board and layout are good as I knew it was always going to be a good base to upgrade from. If you don't try you'll never know.

Plus an amp builder suggested it may benefit from doing so.

    If I don't, I'll always wonder . . .

Good call there, I will certainly try that.

I've already isolated the transformer from the chassis as it was buzzing like crazy. Another indication of unrealised potential with these kind of products (good design/cheap materials).

Hence my suspicion that there is untapped performance.

I realise they're only short runs but you could also try some shielded microphone cable too. I bought some of the micro twin core from micbooster (I think it was) and it costs peanuts....

Indeed it would almost certainly be an upgrade from what is in there Martin, appreciate the 'peanuts' approach too! Thanks for the suggestion.

Certainly crossed my mind but as with IC's I have found silver to rob a bit of 'texture' from my current system. The results may be different than with silver IC's (and I've got some pretty expensive ones) but I'd be worried about it having the same effect.

I've successfully used silver IC's to 'tune' my system before and it worked perfectly as my system was a bit warm/dull before, however my system is now very neutral and although it can inject a welcome (and sometimes much needed) amount of air and sparkle, I would be worried it might be a tad too much for the current setup.

    Thanks though.

Decided to go with this from HFC as it ticks all the boxes and will be delivered with my new IC cables!

Apparently 'the best copper wire available' . . . . . we shall see!

    Thanks for the suggestions chaps.
