I finally got around to getting a 1060.

Everything works, small amount of electrical noise whilst using volume and balance pots. Apart from that its dead silent in operation and sounding lovely. I expected it to have a 'vintage' tone, which it does, but not to the extent that anything is muddy or veiled. In fact there's not much missing in terms of frequency reproduction or indeed grunt and dynamics.

Doesn't look to have been serviced or messed around with too much. Pretty clean inside considering its age.

It still has the original grey Elna caps along with some recognisable components of yesteryear.

Plan is to upgrade the parts that are going to make a difference.

Coupling caps - Upgrade standard from 3000uF 55v to 6800uF 63v (Increased frequency response in the low end)

Main cap - Upgrade standard 4700uF 80v to 10000uF 100v

Replace C803 from 470 to 1000
C804 from 100 to 220
C805 from 330 to 680
C806 from 100 to 270

Remove C701/702 and replace with jumpers

Replace volume pot (likely TKD)

Replace/clean balance pot

Replace speaker binding posts

That's just a list from what I've read, any other suggestions very welcome.
