I did think of you, Marco, when I listened to the news of Wrexham.

Apparently the new owners have guaranteed you will beat Chester more regularly. I expect you follow tradition and call them "The Scum"

    And huge ambition.

Radio 5 Live did play your club song. It was rather good as these things go.

We Footy fans are SO missing out on our tradtional terrace singing abilities!

My beloved Sky Blues (Coventry City) can sing the socks off most teams. And I have had added my soul-felt contribution at times. Though how Reet Petite got into our Reportoire beats me. But fun.

But the team I fear is Norwich. "On the ball, City" is a way better song than "The Sky Blues Song"

    I have to be honest.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I don't think anybody takes the Nations League that seriously. Very makeweight competition.

Even the Germans wanted out. Giving it 0-6 to Spain.

No, it's the Euros that count. Steve Clarke might hatch something up. I saw him play a few times for Chelsea. Good footballing brain.

And let's not forget that the small sides can surprise us. Belgium are not a big country. But a lot of self-belief.

They seem to have given up on everything else now they've qualified for the Euros!

Sir Keir Starmer was on Desert Island Disks this morning. He's quite the footy fan. Still plays 8 a side.

His last choice was "Football's Coming Home" by Dave Baddiel. What a good song!

Only fixture tonight is my Coventry City versus Birmingham City in the Championship.

Brum are the Sky Blues' landlords, so am not sure it's exactly a home fixture for Cov.

We really need to get something out of it.

That depends on what you consider as "home"

Sir Keir was at the Euro game in 1996. The Germans beat us on penalties again in the semi.

That was the one that Gareth Southgate missed. Didn't it go over the bar?

He said the atmosphere was intense, And that song was great sung by such a big crowd.

It was the old Wembley, which I really liked. The new one has less atmosphere IMO. And the cheap seats are a long way up. Can't see much.

Well, that was a flippin' nightmare to listen to.

Coventry Goalie won a bunch of flowers at the end against Brum. 3 good saves.

0-0. That'll do. 2 points above the drop. We just look for consolidation this year.
