Sure I agree that nothing is won in October, just making my prediction (which often is right), and so stand by what I've said.

If both teams could field their strongest starting 11, I don't think that Rangers are stronger, for me arguably the opposite, but they're certainly the form team at the moment, and perhaps, as I've said, also coping better with not playing in front of fans.

Last season, for example, Rangers dropped quite a few unexpected points at home, partly for me because of players feeling the pressure from home fans to win, and so relieved of that this season, they've benefited, especially some of the foreign players. I'm not saying I'm right, just a theory

Plus, Rangers are also reaping the rewards of having given Gerrard (whom I predict will go on to become a successful manager at the highest level) time to implement his tactical style and 'will' on the team. I've always said that it takes a good 3 years minimum for managers to make a proper impact, and so stand by that.

At Liverpool. that was proven with Klopp, and the same will happen at Rangers, with Gerrard.

Nah, no chance, short of a Celtic completely capitulating, that won't happen, although you could be right about the dressing room thing. He'll fix it, though.

For me, the only area Celtic are notably weaker this season than last is in the goalkeeping position, as at the moment anyway, Barkas isn't as good as Forster -nowhere near it. Other than that, we've held onto all our best players, so how can we be weaker?

Plus, most of the new signings have been decent. although many have to still to hit top form. Our biggest miss at the moment is big Julien. I would hope his doubters about how good a defender he is are now realising how wrong they were! And also the loss of form of Edouard, plus him being out with Covid.

I reckon when Julien returns, him and Duffy will form a great partnership, which simply isn't happening at the moment with Ajer, who for me is rather overrated.

I watched both games yesterday, the least Aberdeen deserved was draw. As for Rangers they played a slightly different way, than they have even in recent games and it didn’t really work only they did score two early goals but didn’t capitalize on that position. As for the league we are in much they position as last year and we know how that turned out. Nothing is won in October.
    Regards

Of course Celtic and Aberdeen meet again this weekend , although there is the small matter of a couple of European ties before that.

Indeed, but unfortunately I'm not expecting too much from any of those games until the areas I've outlined have been successfully addressed.

Btw, I know where you're coming from when you say that Rangers were in a similar position last season, but this season is quite different. It's a different Rangers team (by that I mean largely in coaching and mentality) - at no point last season were they six points ahead, and there's a valid reason for that.

If we don't get all three points from Aberdeen, from our game in hand, and I'm far from confident, it'll be a long hard season ahead for us.

The big difference for Rangers this season is that we now a stronger bench and at present we only have a couple of players missing due injury. It will be long season as so far everyone has only played each team once.

Yes, that and Gerrard's methods are starting to sink in. Don't underestimate the significance of that, too.
