    Default I2S - RJ45 to HDMI cable?

I have a PS Audio Stella Gain Cell, which has an HDMI I2S input. I'm looking at my options for a CD Transport with I2S. A likely contender is the Pro-Ject CD Box RS which has an I2S output via an RJ45 socket. However, I'm not sure if the two are compatible, but if they are how should I connect them? I'm struggling to find a RJ45 to HDMI cable. Do such things exist?

Hard to find, but they do exist. As there are variations on both the RJ45 and HDMI pin outs for i2s it would be hit or miss as to whether it works. You can get re-wireable HDMI connectors. Buy a stock RJ45 patch lead and wire the HDMI end to suit. The Pin out is on PS Audio site for their end, you would need the pin out for the Transports RJ45.

I use a Nuprime CDT8-Pro Transport into my Stellar GCD. The HDMI to HDMI pin outs are compatible so a stock HDMI cable is all that is needed. However, I prefer the sound via a coax SPIDIF. I bought a fancy short HDMI lead, but still prefer the coax with that combination.

The Jays Audio CDT-2 also has i2s over HDMI see this review by Steve Guttenberg: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4FnlN9x574

I've had the Nuprime CDT8-Pro recommended on the PS Audio forum too. Did you get yours in the UK Ken?

On the forum, it was suggested that it was unlikely that the Pro-Ject would work with the Stella Gain Cell. So a Nuprime is top of the list if I can track one down.

I got mine new off a German seller on the bay, he is a registered hifi dealer with a shop and website.
This is his add for Silver, he also has an add for Black: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NuPrime-C...sAAOSwBV5ajtyW

That's interesting Ken. I'd spotted a German supplier too. https://www.hifisound.de/Hifi-Compon...ort-black.html

I also saw them. They were out of stock of Silver units when I purchased mine.
