Default West Yorks based listener joining in

    Hi all,

I have broad musical tastes encompassing reggae, ska, rock, jazz, blues, and some classical. (Maybe I should make up my mind). On the plus side, I definitely don't like opera (apart from the famous bits anyway).

I've had a hifi since being a teenager, I don't switch boxes much but my 'journey' includes amps from NAD, Nytech, Naim, and Croft, speakers from Mission, Royd, PMC and Dynaudio, several CD spinners I can't remember, with the trail leading to Rega and then Accuphase. Record wise I still use my second ever player, a Linn Axis. I've been streaming from Sonos for 6 years.

My next moves I expect will be to find a new streamer to replace the Sonos we're currently using, and replace the Linn Axis which is now showing signs of power supply failure.

I first found out about this site in 2014 when I replaced my Naims with Crofts. I like the 'laid back' nature of the site and I sense a tendency for people to prefer their music less 'in their face' here too, which fits with my preference. When researching record decks (I'm eyeing an LP12) recently I was surprised to see I wasn't registered here (I am on a couple of the other sites). Now that's fixed and I look forward to being a member rather than a lurker.

    Welcome to AoS Howard,

    Better late than never

Nice broad tastes in music. Opera is a bit of a specialist taste - I have all of my late father's boxed sets of opera, but have yet to play them!
