I noticed this in one of my perfectly working amps , is it glue that has corroded the shiny thing ( heat sink ? )
Should I change it ?

I'm Mike.
Strangely enough I saw corrosive glue mentioned in a refurb on a Sansui amp that I read yesterday, guy said to remove and replace.
Ok this was on the case itself but might be the same if used internally.
It’s not my amp at all it turns out
Sorry!! Please delete mods with apologies

What happened is ... I had sent pictures of the internals of my amp , my mate then said they have issues and pointed out that corrosion to me which I thought was from the pictures that I sent him ffs I could slap him .
Here is the component in my amp ...
Just glue .... phew

I'm chris.
A Marantz pm4 if I'm correct? I find the glue turns corrosive over the years, check that it's not touching any other components.
That black square looking thing in the middle of the photo looks like a black flag capacitor, they have a very high failure rate.
