Default Free Marantz PM66SE kis Amp

    Hi,

This amp has stopped working, it powers up but the output stage doesn't turn on, it may be a simple fix but i've already got a replacement and i'm too busy to be messing about with it, so if anyone wants it then as long as you can collect from Chorley Lancashire it's yours.

Apart from the obvious fact that it doesn't work properly it's actually in amazing condition, there are no scratches to the case, the volume pot and switches all work without any crackle and it's got all its original documentation including the Ken Ishiwata certificate, it might be a simple fix i don't know, or it could be a good donor unit.

Cosmetically it's perfect and when it worked it made a nice sound, it's a pity really but i'm sure it's not beyond repair or as a donor if someone already has one in working order that's a bit tatty

Hi, I know Lawrence has pm’d you but if it’s still going free I’d happily come and pick it up, I’m based in Cheshire so not too far away

I can recommend a VERY good repair guy, who's very reasonable with pricing (£20 to take a look and assess the problem) and he's only in Bolton.
Oh and if he does the repair he knocks the £20 off the final cost.
I've just had an old Revox cd player that Brian Reeve (THE Revox repair man couldn't help me with) and a Linn Compakt that was caput repaired with great results....Very happy with him
Be good as a spare or second system.
    Just a thought

I was going to take it to a guy in Bolton but it would never realistically be used again as i've got a replacement and another amp waiting to be picked up in Scotland, i would have done it myself but i've got plenty on the go at the moment.

Anyway it's now been snapped up i was PM'd shortly after advertising it but have only just got round to reading and replying to the messages.

No worries...a very kind gesture giving it away.
I've only just found a good tech, I'm really pleased with the results he's produced.
    Quick turnaround too.
    Happy days

I'd be interested to know who this Bolton guy is - I've a poorly Densen CD player that needs looking at.
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

T/T: Inspire Monarch, X200 tonearm, Ortofon Quintet Blue. Phono: Project Tube Box CD: Marantz CD6006 (UK Edition); Amp: Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated.
Speakers: Zu Omen Def, REL T9i subwoofer. Cables: Atlas Equator interconnects, Atlas Hyper 3.0 speaker cables

    T'other system:
Echo Dot, Amptastic Mini One,Arcam A75 integrated, Celestion 5's, BK XLS-200 DF

    A/V:
LG 55" OLED, Panasonic Blu Ray, Sony a/v amp, MA Radius speakers, REL Storm sub

Forget the past, it's gone. And don't worry about the future, it doesn't exist. There is only NOW.

    Hi Steve,
Mike Powell is the man you need to speak with.
His phone number is 01204 396199
He's a really nice bloke and is so knowledgable about fixing audio kit.
I've taken quite a few bits to him recently.
    Nothing phases him.
    Hope you get fixed up
