Default Variable resistor for mains appliance

    Dear All,

I hope that someone can advise me, please.

I have a extractor fan, like this. Is there something that I could plug it into so that I could vary the speed?

You could use a Thyristor ( SCR ) or a Triac circuit to control the fan speed. One is detailed here using a arduino kit https://circuitdigest.com/microcontr...uino-and-triac
but there are other versions https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/220V-SCR...r/303542368258

    That's great!

Thank you very much for this.

I'll take a look and will try it out.
