Default How much might these Sonus Faber Grand Piano Speakers be worth (pics included)

    Hello all,

Im a newbie to this forum, so go easy =D

Last year I was given some speakers and an amp by my brother who was upgrading his gear (again) and didn't have the room to store his growing collection of speakers. It was great having amazing hifi gear (Sugden Amps and a Sonus Faber Grand Piano), but I had to downsize appartments and for 8 months the Piano's have been in storeage. Since there's no room in the flat my brother suggested i sell them/swap them for some bookshelf speakers. Thing is im no audiophile so am not entirely sure how much they're worth. From a bit of research im thinking around £1000 (im in the UK), however there are some marks from being in a family home for 10 years..Ive photographed them pretty thoroughly, perhaps using too bright a light (whcih makes the nicks and divots appear worse than they are in a normal lighting scenario). I was wondering what people on here think they're worth? Here are some pics, feel free to comment..

Look to be the newer gp version. In good nick I'd think 1k is about right. Maybe a bit less on a forum tho as you've no costs.

    Good speaker

You can search sold items on eBay, this potentially could give you a good idea of pricing.

Thanks for the response. Based on the pictures, do you think this is classified as 'good nick', or are there too many imperfections?

I did find one sold for just under a grand, but there weren't any pictures. Based on the photos in the link would you say the imperfections were severe or normal for used?

Wouldn't say they are top top. For that colour of money I'd expect better personally but much depends on how desirable they are.
Personally in that condition I would only spend 70% of top book

The are in pretty poor shape cosmetically, 'normal' would be near perfect condition. I'd say £800 tops, some sold on ebay in March for a grand but they were mint.

I have had a look around and it seems Near Mint go for about £1200, the were around $3.5K new. From the few reviews I found it reports they have a great mid-range, and top end is pretty good, however one or two said bottom end can be a a bit heavy on rock music and recommended listening with your own amp before buying, but I think that may be on the earlier model.

So with the nicks and marks I would say around £800 seems about right.
Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

Analog Inputs: Pro-Ject Signature 10 TT & arm, Benz Micro LP-S, Michel Cusis MC, Goldring 2500 and Ortofon Rondo Blue cartridges, Hitachi FT5500 mk2 Tuner

Digital:- Marantz SA-KI Pearl CD player, RaspberryPi/HifiBerry Digi+ Pro, Buffalo NAS Drive

Amplification:- AudioValve Sunilda phono stage, Krell KSP-7B pre-amp, Krell KSA-80 power amp

Output: Wilson Benesch Vector speakers, KLH Ultimate One Headphones

Cables: Tellurium Q Ultra Black II RCA & Chord Epic 2 RCA, various speaker leads, & links

I think I am nearing audio nirvana, but don’t tell anyone.

Ok, cool. Good to know what i should expect. Wondering if I can somehow spruce them at all, because the speaker parts are mint, it's just the wood that needs some tlc.
