Get a used Jolida FX Glass. Preferably with cap upgrade by OpenDoor of this parish. As good as any DAC you can buy for under £2000. There’s usually one for sale on the forums. As they were very popular. £300 should bag a Mk2.

I'm selling a very nice DAC Don it's a fraction of your budget but sounds very good and would cost a lot more if it wasn't Chinese. Two big transformers, Sabre chips in a true balanced configuration (with XLRs out), USB and SPDIF inputs, digital filters and volume.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

Hi guys...A big thank you for all of your advice...I've narrowed it down to Firebottle/Ianmac & Kneesup, who are all the joint winners of suggestions...cheques in the post...
Topping D70 is on the cards...Tony Roma was selling one but it's sold...I don't think he's had the chance to ammend his post...as for the Jolida FX Glass MK.2 also promising...as long as it gives me more than ye olde golde Beresford Caiman MK2 I had (which I still like...), then I'm happy!

Now, is there either a D70 or Glass MK.2 out there up for sale?

As a matter of interest, which of the above DAC is preferred/wins the shoot out?
