Twiglets are wheat-based, it's comparing apples with oranges.

    And they're cack.

In the olden days when eating crisps in a beer garden you would use the ash tray to anchor the packet so it didn't blow away.

Then the ash trays changed from heavy pottery to plastic so that no longer worked. Then they got rid of the ash trays altogether and replaced them with a stupid box on the wall that if it is not actually on fire is at least emitting alarming amounts of smoke.

The entire decline of Western Civilisation can be charted in the practice of al-fresco crisp consumption.

Mark my words, the WHO and Bill Gates are at the bottom of this.

I wonder when crisps first appeared. I remember when I were a lad that you could only get plain crisps (Smith's?), with a little blue bag of salt. Then, when I was about 10, Walkers came along with their fancy new flavours.

    I suppose I could JFGI:

Looks like 1910 in the US and 1920 in the UK.

Yes, I quite like them. What makes them a girl's crisp?

It irritates me that the yanks call crisps chips & chips french fries.

    Crisps are actually radioactive.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

When I was in primary school only the girls would ever be eating discos. Likewise with 'Hula-Hoops.'

Hmm... A "girl's crisp"... That could make for a rather interesting euphemism

Her 'crisp twiglet'. Yes, I rather like that, and can feel a story coming on!

I think it depends on the flavour - Prawn cocktail is definitely feminine but beef is overtly masculine.
