    Default Soldering station recommendations

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced soldering station. The high frequency has gone on one channel of my turntable so I need to open it up and fix it. There are a few other jobs I could use it for so would prefer one that is reasonable quality.

    Thanks
    Phil

I bought a Workzone brand soldering station from Lidls a few years ago and it has been very good.

Weller make great soldering stations too but are a bit pricy, so look for a secondhand one off ebay perhaps.

Having used quite a few, Weller, antex etc,
I bought a metcal (oki) it's by far the best solution.
New ones on ebay £280, or pick up power supply and wand separately for about £150 the set secondhand

Metcal are excellent, but a bit costly, I went for a Hakko FX-888D.

I have an ERSA RDS 80. I use it a lot for the construction of 7mm model railway kits. Highly recommended amongst the model-making fraternity .

Maplin are still trading on line and do one at £60. My RS one lasted two years before the power / control unit went

Holife Soldering Iron Station, 60W Premium Rework Station is available for £30 at the rain forest. It's a pretty dam good purchase for the price. Highly capable for fixing your TT.

I bought the Preciva equivalent to replace my aging iron and it seems ok at the moment although not used in anger yet...... I looked at the low end Weller and also the Hakko but thought I'd give this one a shot.
