    Default Quad 306

I have only recently bought this alongside another 306. This one has had the speaker binding posts replaced and new caps fitted. It has also had the feed forward bridge balance adjusted. I have chosen to keep the stock version as it is a little better cosmetically.

There are a few marks on this commensurate with age (some scratches on top and a couple to the heat sink) but it is generally in pretty good order. I'm looking to get back wha I paid for it which is £190 posted.

This was Alan Firebottle's explanation (he was the one that carried out the work)...

_As it is a current dumping amplifier there is a set of four components that forms a bridge (4 components connected in a square) that balances the driver and output stage.
As built it is felt that this bridge is out of balance, hence the advice on a couple of sites to change one of the resistor values._

Thanks for clearing that up for me, I take it you're not impressed with the mods having chosen the stock amplifier from the two?
I'd like to take a chance and offer £155 inc for it

It is usual forum etiquette to discuss Private Exhibitions negotiations via PM's.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

You dont haggle on a sales thread. If you want to make an offer, then it should be by PM.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

    Thanks
    Hi Simon,

The mods have already told you how we do things here, and any decisions they make on that basis aren't up for debate, so kindly respect that or I'll have to take disciplinary action against you.

Including any more backchat like that.

    Cheers!

No it's called a community, and there are acceptable and unacceptable ways of behaving. Clearly though, you don't know when to shut up and do what you're told, so consider yourself banned for a week. You can use that time to examine your behaviour and see whether you can fit in here or not.
