Default My Tannoy SRM12x vs KEF Reference 107

I will start by saying I do have a tendency to make brash decisions when bored ( or in lockdown! ) , I got to thinking that I’ve scratched the itch with my lovely Tannoys and being a fan of vintage kefs perhaps it’s time to change once again.
In the past I have had the KEF Reference model 4, 105’4’s ( loved them ) and a mint pair of 104/2’s , I really do like the sound that these produced so surely the 107’s would be my perfect speaker? Trouble is I would have to sell the tannoys beforehand so that I have the cash when some ( not black ) 107’s come up for sale.
    Should I or shouldn’t I ?

    Don't do it!
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

From my experience all of those KEF models differ considerably, both in design, sound and period, I would not make any assumtions about the 107s based on the other models.

Srm 12x is one of the best tannoys. I would want to make sure any new speaker was an improvement before getting rid of these beauties

They’re not going anywhere now, nearly moved them on though due to other components.
