    Default The Time has come

I have decided to finish with Hi-Fi, its time to leave it well alone, I am never happy nor have any money to spend on it. It just causes frustration day in day out leading to bad temper, argument with the wife & Green eyed monster appears a lot with other peoples equipment which again leads to bad temper. The easiest way to get away from the influence is to stay away from AOS or any other form of online Audio influence.

I bought a brand new laptop awhile back that i have not used yet. This with my headphone amp/DAC is all i need now for music.

Applogies to those who i may have had a few crosswords with, im not generally a nasty person its just out of pure frustration which ofc i only have myself to blame due to bad bad decisions over the years sadly leaving me with nothing in the end.. Take care anyway and stay safe at this very dicey moment in time. There is light at the end of the Tunnel, just remember that..

Come down from there Andre, things are never as bad as they seem!

I understand your frustration with hifi - you do have some pretty strong views and you know what you like, and there's nothing wrong with that. Just makes your 'journey' a bit tougher. I'm confident that with perseverance you'll get there in the end.

I can see your frustration in many of your posts, where your views can often seem challenging and contentious, but also can be amusing and (for a numpty like me) frequently informative. I for one would miss that, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that. Don't ever think that my replies to any of your posts are me 'having a dig', I take the mickey out of nearly everyone, especially myself.

In these trying times this forum can an important means of communication for all of us, and sometimes a way to let off steam. Please don't shut yourself off from this.

My suggestion: embrace the streaming for the time being, and continue to post, about music, films, TV, even tell us about your day And at some point your perfect TT will come along with a bit of luck. Then you can resume ruining your neighbours' lives with your Depeche Mode vinyl

I wish you well with whatever you choose to do.

Forget the past, it's gone. And don't worry about the future, it doesn't exist. There is only NOW.

I'd agree with lots of what Steve has said.

Dude, you've been here many times before, and we've known each other for YEARS, so I think I've got a pretty good handle on what makes you 'tick'. Regardless of that though, understand two things:

    1) Do whatever you think is best for your head right now, as your relationship with Chez is ultimately worth MUCH more than your love/hate relationship with hi-fi. You can revisit things at any time.

    2) I have a lot of time for you [despite our differences, there are some fundamental things we have in common], and so you'll always be welcome on AoS, remember that. And many others feel the same, so don't hesitate to pop in when you feel it'll be beneficial

    Marco.

I stopped chasing Hi-Fi nirvana a long time ago. I am happy with the sound I get from my system and I don't care if a 10p or £10k upgrade would improve it. I spend time listening to my music and even stopped buying physical media because I am running out of storage space, so either buy downloads or use Tidal to listen to something new.

    Andre,

More to life than hifi mate, and as I think Marco said before the Forum here is about more than just a Hifi, it’s a Community.
When everyone’s stuck at home it’s more important to keep in touch with what ticks your boxes and keeps you happy n healthy.

Everyones turning to “social media” for a lot of that, and maybe the Forum here is ours.

Try to forget about the Kit for a while and enjoy what you have, and more importantly the Music.
Sometimes we need to step back from the kit “rat race” for a while to get back in touch with the music...maybe this is one of those times for you.

Take it easy Man, and don’t exclude yourself from the banter and good stuff here.
    This too shall pass.

There's certainly a LOT more to life than just hi-fi.

Personally, I assumed that this was an April 1st post, hence my wave goodbye earlier.
