Yes, space is the key. I wouldn't want my hifi to be in the main living area as I'd barely get chance to use it as a certain someone would be watching the telly. Think I actually had more gear when we first met, the box count has dropped considerably since then whereas she's certainly bought more shoes and 'frocks'

Thank God for a second / separate lounge space.
Not big at all in this typical 1930s semi.
Most have had the wall knocked out to create a one large room, through lounge.
Its one of the things, my wife and I liked when we first viewed it, some years back.
Front room is tv room.
Back room is where the dining room, main pc and my system is. It's a nice space that I'm proper glad and grateful to have, regardless of its modest size

I like open Plan. Your not living in a rabbit hutch that way. You have to be clever with such big open rooms using furniture etc to divide the open space up so you dont waste it.
