“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Started doing the Joe Wicks workout on his you tube channel. I cycle quite a lot already but this is different type of exercise of course. Very good though.

Mate it's starting to piss me off on facebook the amount of people now going out daily for a bike ride, an ex colleague of mine cycled through Sheffield train station and ok there was hardly anyone about but that's not the point, daily exercise can take many forms, like you've said washing your car or gardening, my understanding of the rules are, don't go out unless absolutely necessary and going out for a bike ride every day to me at the moment seems a bit excessive, the weather hasn't helped but still, the amount of people that all of a sudden have to go out for their "daily exercise" is a joke, you're not going to die from a couple of weeks sat on yer arse, but while out on your bike anything could happen, it's just not worth the risk in my opinion, restricting your movement is the only way to get this lockdown lifted in the shortest time period.

    Rant over.

100% Andre and a lockdown like Spain and Italy is on its way, do people not realise the longer this continues the less likely we will all have jobs at the end of it, the government is bolstering the economy but that can't last forever.

Yup, I'm getting my exercise by working my bollox off in the garden. 5 hours at it yesterday, 3 today! And once I run out of things to do, I can jog round it- it's big enough!
